But simply attracting attention\u2014and applicants\u2014isn\u2019t enough to solve the workforce gap experienced by companies throughout the material handling and supply chain field.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s employers have to flex their creative muscles more than ever to develop and implement strategies that create and foster a workplace culture where employees not only want to work, they can\u2019t imagine ever leaving. And, they want others to hire on and enjoy the same amazing work experience.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re among the 64 percent of 2018 MHI Annual Industry Report respondents who said hiring qualified workers is a top operational challenge, now is the time for employers like yourself to completely rethink present business models, said leading authority on workplace culture Eric Chester (ericchester.com).<\/p>\n<p>An author who has spent more than 20 years researching and writing about employee engagement and the workplace desires of the emerging generations, Chester shared insights about creating an engaging workplace culture during MHI\u2019s Executive Summit and Annual Conference last October. I had the opportunity to chat with him after the session and ask a few follow up questions about making the workplace more appealing to both future and current labor pools.
