C<\/span>ontinued outreach and education on the topics of worker safety during overhead lifting are the focus of the Alliance between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Crane, Hoist and Monorail (CHM) members. For the last 16 years the members have worked together to improve worker safety. The success of the alliance has resulted in the achievement of Ambassador status.<\/p>\n

MHI\u2019s CHM Alliance consists of members of three MHI Industry Groups: The Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA), Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI) and Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA).<\/p>\n

OSHA originally established an Alliance Program in 2002 to enable organizations committed to safety and health to work with OSHA to prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace. Through the Alliance Program, OSHA works with organizations to share information about OSHA\u2019s initiative and compliance assistance resources with workers and employers, and educate workers and employers about their rights and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Ambassador status reflects OSHA\u2019s recognition that an Alliance participant has built and will continue to maintain a productive cooperative relationship with the agency. OSHA expects that Alliance Program Ambassadors will continue to share timely and relevant safety and health information with members and work collaboratively on issues that emerge among its membership.<\/p>\n

OSHA and the CHM Partners continue to recognize the value of this collaborative relationship to improve safety and health practices and programs in American workplaces, and they are committed to continue their work together as Alliance Program Ambassador.<\/p>\n

The original CHM Alliance was signed on October 05, 2005; renewed October 29, 2007; renewed November 21, 2012; renewed February 02, 2016; and signed as Ambassador May 19, 2021.<\/p>\n
