Back in March, at MODEX 2014, we released the MHI Annual Industry Report: Innovations That Drive Supply Chains. That report, which is still available as a free download on www.MHI.org, was the first of a series of yearly studies that MHI has partnered with Deloitte to conduct.
The Annual Industry Report separates the buzz from the reality surrounding five hot supply chain and material handling topics: supply chain analytics, multi-channel/omni-channel fulfillment, mobile supply chains, additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing) and sustainability.
It surveyed 450 senior executives (C-level executives, managing directors, senior vice presidents, vice presidents or directors) from both large and small companies. Represented industries included retail, wholesale, consumer packaged goods, automotive, consulting, life sciences, healthcare, transportation, warehousing, material handling, supply chain equipment and related services.
From a big-picture perspective, the Annual Industry Report offers tremendous insight into the topics that are actually keeping supply chain managers awake at night, said Bryan Carey, president of Starrco Company and member of MHI’s Board of Governors. Carey also serves as the committee chair of MHI’s Branding Work Group, an external leadership team advising us about how to best serve the needs of members as we work to connect them with the end-user community.
