Jim Robertson – In Memoriam

MHI mourns the loss of James (Jim) Robertson, the former president of MHI member Cattron, where he worked for more than 35 years. After his leadership at Cattron, Jim continued his passion and work in the supply chain as a consultant for several international businesses and private equity investment firms.

He was a passionate leader in the material handling industry and served on the board of directors of MHI and served as Chairman of the Board in 1991. In addition, Jim was a board member of the Material Handling Education Foundation (MHEFI) and a proud member and contributor to the Electrical Controls Manufacturers Association (EMCA) and the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA).

“Jim’s uncommon passion, energy and enthusiasm for our industry set a very high bar for all who follow. We will all benefit by following his strong belief in building and nurturing networks and friendships as a cornerstone for success on many levels,” commented John Nofsinger former CEO of MHI.

“Jim’s personal commitment made a lasting impact on all of the groups that he served as a volunteer,” added John Paxton CEO of MHI.

Mr. Robertson was born January 3, 1942, in Johnstown, PA. He was a 1959 graduate of Mohawk Area High School in New Castle, he also attended the New Castle Business School, the College of the Sequoias, Visalia, CA, and Youngstown State University.

A proud veteran, Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1961-1965. An outdoorsman, he loved spending his time outdoors hunting, especially at the family camp in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. Jim also loved traveling internationally and playing golf with friends.
