The Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC) has introduced a fourth course in the Distribution Logistics Education Program. The Distribution Logistics Operations Course is tailored to give employees in-depth knowledge of the various aspects of managing warehouses and distribution center operations.

Key topics covered in the Distribution Logistics Operations Course include:

  • An overview of the differences between warehouses and distribution centers in terms of their operations
  • The elements of inbound and outbound processes within a facility
  • Quality control and inspection procedures
  • Inventory analysis and management strategies
  • The purpose, usage and selection of a Warehouse Management System
  • Building effective internal and external operational partnerships

This course builds on valuable insights from the first three courses in the series: Distribution Logistics Fundamentals, Distribution Logistics Equipment and Safety & Compliance. It includes engaging learning modules, interactive knowledge checks and testimonials from industry leaders. Like all courses in the series, Distribution Logistics Operations is a remote learning course that participants can do at their own pace.

Upon completing this Distribution Logistics Operations Course, students will earn a certificate and a digital badge to display on their LinkedIn profiles and email signatures. Completion of all six courses in the Distribution Logistics Education Program culminates in a WERC certificate for warehousing education.

MHI and WERC members receive a discounted rate on the courses. To learn more and enroll in the WERC Distribution Logistics Education Program courses, visit werc.org/getcertified.
