With 30 finalists—10 in each of three categories—the 9th Annual MHI Innovation Awards from ProMatDX saw the strongest competition ever.
By Greg Baer
It’s a great time to be in supply chain and material handling, what with all the new products and solutions contributing to the advancement of our industry. In fact, of the 92 submissions MHI received across three different categories—Best New Innovation, Best Innovation of an Existing Product and Best IT Innovation—the judges were so impressed with the entries that for the first time ever, 10 different finalists were selected for each award.
Eight volunteer judges representing companies across a broad range of industries reviewed the submissions, evaluating them based on their concept, value and impact. To pick the winners, the finalists’ entries were vetted on their ability to deliver quantifiable and sustainable return on investment (ROI), cost savings and customer satisfaction for operations both large and small.
The winners—ThruWave for Best New Innovation, Packsize International for Best Innovation of an Existing Product, and 4Front Engineered Solutions for Best IT Innovation—were announced during a ProMatDX keynote session held April 12. The entire collection of entries can be viewed online at promatshow.com/innovation-awards.
